Hot CPI reprices rates; company-specific debt worry hits CoreWeave

September consumer prices rose 3.7% from a year earlier, above expectations, while core inflation was also hotter than forecast and gasoline drove much of the increase. The S&P 500 fell more than 1% as markets raised the odds of further Fed hikes. Separately, company-specific AI-debt worries intensified CoreWeave’s credit stress, pushing its bond yields past 15–16%.
